GO TRACE ADKINS!!!!!

So, I admit I havent watched any of the Celebrity Apprentice, but a friend told me about it when she heard Trace Adkins talking about his charity. His charity is FAAN, Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network. I really hope he wins, but just him being on the show is fantastic in raising awareness to food allergies.

I am a member of FAAN for my daughter.

My baby almost died in my arms at 12months, after giving her a few teaspons of yogurt. The paramedics, the ER doctor, the allergist, and her pediatricain, all told me that if I had not had my 'mommy instinct' and given her benadryl, she would not have made it. It has been over a year now since that day, yet it feels like it happened only 10 minutes ago.

It is such a hard daily struggle, hard to let her 'be a kid', and play at playgrounds, mingle with other kids that she desperately craves....and to not constantly, literally constantly, worry that she hasn't picked up some yummy looking fish cracker or candy off the ground..It's hard when she goes to a birthday party, and there are yummy pink 'cuppycakes' and all she wants is to have one, and to be like the other friends.

She has such a severe allergy to dairy that even just playing at her cousins house will give her hives on her face....and no one was even eating dairy at the time.

We hope that she will outgrow it, but only time and prayers will tell. There has got to be a reason why so many people are becoming allergic to food, and something that we should all be aware of. But until then, she will not be out of my sight, and will unfortunately have to miss out on several of the 'norma'l child activities.

If you have a free hour, tivo or watch the final episode tomorrow. They will be opening up donation lines for the public to also be able to donate.

...more easter

She had the most fun hunting for eggs. Gram helped her find them, and then she had to show Gampa her stash. I love that her basket is almost as big as she is.

Happy Easter

Easter morning was fun this year. She is so into Little Pet Shops, so that is what her basket was full of. Now she has a total of 20. Yes, 20. She loves little things, and of course the smallest pieces are her favorite. She is so meticulous at arranging everything just right. She especially loved the miniature tea set, and was pouring all of them a cup.

Coloring Easter Eggs

So this was P's first time coloring eggs. She still hasnt eaten eggs, so I'm not 100% sure if shes allergic or not, but nothing happened and she LOVED it. I had massive anxiety during the whole thing, since i'm not sure how egg dye stains..but i'm sure it isnt good!

Our View

So one thing that we like about being back in this state is the mountains. We so have the itch to camp, hopefully Miss P will enjoy it!!

The Princess......

Isn't she just adorable??? I did her hair in piggy braids for the first time, soooo flippin cute!! She always has her daily 'tea' or aka.. 'pour pour pour time'. She has found the game "hop scop game", and was having a ball playing it out on our balcony. Funniest part is how she counts..."sebenteen, nineteen, sebenteen, nineteen....sebenteeen.....NINETEEEEEEEN!!!!" Then of course we had to make a small hop scop for Tiny (her fav pet shop).

Day at the Park

We had lots of fun at the park on Sunday. P was content in finding as many sticks as she could hold, and then throwing them in the pond....as close to the edge as she could get....without me holding on to her. I had to go down the slide, as it was 'you tuhn momma'. She's determined to go across the "muhkey bahs" and the rock wall. Yes, she is 2 1/2.

Also on Gpa's farm

Purrtty cool eh? There were a TON of them. Not a bad buck either! ;) If you click on the picture you can see how big his horns really are.

Grandpa's Farm

Grandpa got baby turkeys so we had to go see them. P & AJ had loads of fun.

Come Check It Out Mom

She has a fascination, err, obsession, with figurines. And, lately she has been saying either "Come check it out Mom" or "Look at that Mom!". The other day, I had to "check this out".

Enjoying the 'warm' day

Today was quite warm compared to what it has been lately. I think it got to 55!! She loves going to 'play the kids' at the park by the house. She loves the mommies and daddies just as much too....which kinda scares me - she will walk up to almost anyone. =/
