GO TRACE ADKINS!!!!!

So, I admit I havent watched any of the Celebrity Apprentice, but a friend told me about it when she heard Trace Adkins talking about his charity. His charity is FAAN, Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network. I really hope he wins, but just him being on the show is fantastic in raising awareness to food allergies.

I am a member of FAAN for my daughter.

My baby almost died in my arms at 12months, after giving her a few teaspons of yogurt. The paramedics, the ER doctor, the allergist, and her pediatricain, all told me that if I had not had my 'mommy instinct' and given her benadryl, she would not have made it. It has been over a year now since that day, yet it feels like it happened only 10 minutes ago.

It is such a hard daily struggle, hard to let her 'be a kid', and play at playgrounds, mingle with other kids that she desperately craves....and to not constantly, literally constantly, worry that she hasn't picked up some yummy looking fish cracker or candy off the ground..It's hard when she goes to a birthday party, and there are yummy pink 'cuppycakes' and all she wants is to have one, and to be like the other friends.

She has such a severe allergy to dairy that even just playing at her cousins house will give her hives on her face....and no one was even eating dairy at the time.

We hope that she will outgrow it, but only time and prayers will tell. There has got to be a reason why so many people are becoming allergic to food, and something that we should all be aware of. But until then, she will not be out of my sight, and will unfortunately have to miss out on several of the 'norma'l child activities.

If you have a free hour, tivo or watch the final episode tomorrow. They will be opening up donation lines for the public to also be able to donate.
